Description:
The School of Education seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in Qualitative Research Methodologies and Educational Foundations to teach and mentor graduate and undergraduate students in its PhD, master's degree, and BSEd programs. The individual hired for this position will be appointed within the School's Curriculum and Instruction Department and maintain a programmatic line of research reflecting qualitative methodological expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establishing and maintaining a coherent and active research agenda.
Seeking and securing grant funding to support applied research and outreach activities.
Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses.
Recruiting and mentoring graduate students and helping them acquire qualitative methodological research skills.
Engaging in service to the profession, Department, School, and University.

BEGINNING DATE: The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and professional experience. The anticipated date of appointment is August 2025.

Qualifications:
Consistent with Baylor's mission to be a world-class institution dedicated to Christian principles and ideals, the qualifications for the position include:

Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) with a specialization in qualitative research methodologies and expertise in educational foundations or a closely related field of scholarship such as philosophy of education, history of education, or social/cultural foundations in education.
Record of scholarship commensurate with experience and established/emerging research agenda that reflects qualitative methodological expertise.
Evidence of, or strong potential for, successful collaborative efforts to secure competitive extramural funding.
Evidence of potential for excellence in university-level teaching, advising, and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
Evidence of potential for effective contributions as a qualitative research methodologist on doctoral dissertation and master's thesis committees.
Evidence of commitment to equity and excellence in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
A history of faith community engagement in the Christian or Jewish tradition.
