Min T/E Requirements:

Primary Purpose of Organization Unit:
The Interdisciplinary Studies Program in the College of Arts and Sciences serves over five hundred students across various areas of the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree. The program is led by a Director overseeing two Academic Support Coordinators, providing academic advising to non-traditional learners in a largely online, asynchronous format. The program collaborates with faculty teaching in the discipline who are housed in other departments, and reports to the Associate Dean for Student Success in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Primary Purpose of Position:
The Director of Interdisciplinary Studies provides leadership and vision, and is responsible for the overall administration of the program. The position supervises two direct reporting staff and collaborates with department chairs regarding additional faculty teaching in the program.
Job Description:
Reporting to the Associate Dean of Student Success and Curriculum in the College of Arts and Sciences, the Director is responsible for providing administrative oversight for the Interdisciplinary Studies program. This EHRA non-teaching position provides data-driven solutions targeting student recruitment and retention, maintains a caseload of assigned advisees, and manages two Academic Support Coordinators. Depending on qualifications, the Director may also choose to teach occasional Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) courses through an additional contract. Duties include managing outreach initiatives, providing curriculum oversight and development, data analysis, and strategic planning. The Director works to encourage departmental collaboration and establish programmatic assessment procedures.

This is an on-site, in-person position located in Pembroke, North Carolina
Management Preference:
Familiarity with southeastern NC, experience working with diverse populations, including non- traditional and adult learners, through programs delivered via multimodalities.
