Position Information
Hiring Department: Institutional Advancement

Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm
FLSA status: Exempt
Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.
Salary: $40,000 annually
Work Modality: Institutional Advancement is seeking a candidate who lives within a commutable distance (75 miles or less) of the University of Texas at El Paso campus. This role provides the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement, with an on-site requirement of 16 hours per week.

The Prospect Management and Research team is looking for a highly collaborative individual with experience in research methodology and a basic understanding of philanthropy and fundraising principles. You have exceptional communication and writing skills and your meticulous attention to detail is evident as you handle confidential materials, communications, and information with accuracy and precision.

What You'll Do
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Prospect Management and Research, working closely with other Institutional Advancement units, you'll be responsible for identifying, researching, and analyzing information on prospective donors. You'll provide research support to key leadership at the University, including our Executive Leadership team and the President's office, as well as to Development Officers (DOs), to inform our development strategies and advance potential donor relationships.
In this role, you'll respond to research requests in a timely manner, analyze information, and generate user-friendly donor profiles and reports. Utilizing the University's donor and alumni database system (Raiser's Edge), you'll produce clear profiles/biographies background, career, financial capacity, philanthropic interests, and nature of the relationship to the University. You'll also be tasked with updating information in the Blackbaud CRM donor database to ensure records and data is accurate and current.
With a strong emphasis on quality and collaboration, you'll strategize and partner with our Development unit to support them, keep them up-to-date on research briefings, continuously develop high-capacity portfolios, and to remain abreast of current activities, prospects, initiatives, and programs. You'll also develop and implement strategies for continually identifying and researching current and potential donors.
You uphold and safeguard the confidentiality of donor information at all times.
Essential Functions:
Perform tasks as assigned using existing procedures, practices, techniques, etc.
Coordinates donor and fundraising efforts, services, events, programs, etc. assigned.
Completes standard assignments and responsibilities and makes recommendations for improvement/efficiency, resourcing, etc., as necessary.
Use existing procedures to solve standard problems and/or correct issues.
Assists in the development and implementation of fund-raising plans according to plan and/or with guidance.
Impacts team through accuracy and quality of work.
Works within standardized functional procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet established deadlines.
Exchanges information in a direct manner
Develop working relationships with various teams/parties.
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and ability to learn and use institutional software systems.
Complies with all State and University policies.
Other duties may be assigned; specific roles may have additional responsibilities due to the nature of the specific role/division/unit.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
License: A Valid State Issued Driver's License
Education: Bachelor's Degree
and
Experience:1 (One) - 2 (Two) years of related experience and training to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data related to research
Experience in a non-profit organization and/or higher education fundraising setting
Experience using a fundraising database (e.g. Raiser's Edge/NXT)
Experience utilizing project management platforms
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office software and ability to learn and use departmental information systems.
